Everything you need to know about getting started with Roster Ready.

For Players & Families
Players & Families
Roster Ready is a free app that connects youth softball players and families with coaches and teams. Players can browse open tryouts, find guest play opportunities, and connect directly with coaches — all in one place.
Yes. Roster Ready is completely free for players and families. Download it on the App Store and create your profile at no cost.
After creating your account, go to the Events tab and browse open tryouts in your state. You can filter by age group and event type to find the right fit.
Guest play is when a player joins a team temporarily — usually for a single tournament or weekend — without being on the full roster. Coaches post open guest play spots in the app, and players can request to fill them.
A tournament fill-in is similar to guest play but more urgent — a coach needs a player for an upcoming tournament, often with short notice. These spots are marked clearly in the app so players can respond quickly.
When you find a coach or event you're interested in, tap the Connect button on their profile or event detail screen. The coach receives your request and can accept it. Once connected, you can message each other directly in the app.
Email verification protects the community. Until your email is verified, write actions like connecting with coaches and marking event interest are limited. Check your inbox (and spam folder) after signing up — the email comes from RosterReady.
Yes. You don't need to have everything figured out. Create a profile, browse what's available in your area, and reach out to coaches with questions. That's exactly what the app is for.

Coaches
From your coach dashboard, tap the Create Event button (bottom right). Fill in the event name, type, date, location, and age group. Your event will be visible to players in your state immediately after posting.
You can post tryouts, tournaments, clinics, camps, guest play opportunities, and tournament fill-ins. Each type has its own tag and color so players can find what they're looking for quickly.
Go to the Discover tab on your coach dashboard. You'll see available players filtered by state and age group. You can connect with players directly or post a guest play event and let players come to you.
Either a coach or a player can initiate a connection request. Once both sides accept, you're connected and can message each other directly in the app. Connections are one-to-one — no group broadcasts.
Yes. From the Teams tab, you can create your team, add players, assign jersey numbers, and add notes. Players you're connected with can be invited to join your roster directly.
Once you're connected with a player, tap the Messages icon in the top right of your dashboard to start a conversation. Messages are private between you and the player (or their parent).
No. Post as many events as you need. There are no posting limits for coaches.

For Parents with Multiple Kids
Parents with Multiple Kids
Yes. From the account menu (top right), tap Add Player Profile to create a second child's profile. Each child has their own age group, positions, and availability settings.
Tap the account menu in the top right of the player dashboard. You'll see all your children's profiles listed — tap one to switch. The app bar will show the active child's name so you always know which profile you're viewing.
No. One parent account can hold multiple child profiles. You manage everything from one login.
Yes. If your child is 13 or older, they can create their own account. If you'd prefer to manage everything as a parent, adding them as a profile under your account works just as well.
Coaches see the child's profile — name, age group, positions, location, and availability. Your personal account information is not shared.
